At Newnan Book Co., we have always taken great pride in being a home for stories of all kinds. Over the years, we’ve been honored to meet so many talented local authors and help bring your work to the readers of Newnan.
For Local Authors
As our shop continues to grow, we find ourselves in a bit of a predicament. We are a small, curated space with limited shelf space! Currently, the volume of requests we receive from authors to stock their books has exceeded what our physical store can accommodate. Thus, we have made the hard decision to no longer accept author submissions for independently published books.
Here’s how you can get your book in our store:
Direct Your Readers to Us: If you have a local following, encourage them to come into the shop or visit our website to request or order your book.
We Listen to Our Customers: When our readers consistently ask for a specific title, we will shelve copies into our shop for browsers.
Support Local: By sending your readers to order through us rather than a major online retailer, you are keeping your local indie bookstore thriving while ensuring your book has a presence in our store.
Our goal is to ensure that every book on our shelves has a reader waiting for it. By focusing on the titles our community is actively searching for, we can remain a sustainable and vibrant part of downtown Newnan.
We have accounts with all major publishers, including Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, Macmillan, HarperCollins, Simon and Schuster, Scholastic, Longleaf, Chicago Distribution Center, Arcadia, and others. We appreciate our sales reps letting us know of regional and local authors and assisting us with event coordination—book tours, author signings, special sales.
If you are a local author with a publisher, make sure you or your marketing team have your book on our radar! We would love to setup a preorder campaign and be your signed copies headquarters.
For Publishers
We really wish we could have an indepth conversation with every local author who walks through our door, but our booksellers are often busy helping customers, shelving, or reading while they staff the shop.
